The unique design of the Sea Eagle 393rl RazorLite is the closest you can get to the rigidity and performance of a hard shell kayak with the portability of an inflatable kayak. This monumental achievement was achieved with a hull made entirely of drop-stitch materials. The first kayak of its kind in the world!
There are no bulky raft-like tubes making up the sides of the Sea Eagle 393rl RazorLite. The floor and sides are made of drop-stitch construction which makes it possible to have a narrower yet stable kayak. This superior hull design combined with the RazorLite’s tapered, rigid bow and stern molds allows paddling speeds up to 6 mph.
Speeds of 6 mph may be common in hardshell kayaks but not with other inflatable kayaks. This is an amazing accomplishment!
The Sea Eagle 393rl RazorLite inflatable kayak is only 35 pounds and packs easily into its backpack for easy transport and storage. When you’re ready for a paddling adventure, find your spot, unroll the kayak, inflate, and you’re off and going.
Super fast and easy!
- No expensive roof racks.
- No difficulties with lifting and carrying a heavy hardshell kayak.
- No storage issues like those bulky hardshell kayaks.
Best For:
If you’ll be paddling on whitewater, the Sea Eagle Explorer would be a better choice.

Key Features
The following key features of the Sea Eagle 393rl RazorLite one-person inflatable kayaks set them far apart from other touring kayaks.
World’s First and Only Kayak Made Entirely with Drop-Stitch Material
The Sea Eagle RazorLite 393rl 1-person inflatable kayak is the first and only inflatable kayak with a hull made entirely from drop-stitch constructed materials.
The inflatable walls and floor of the RazorLite are created by joining each side of the fabric layers with tens of thousands of high-tensile strength threads. This allows for a much higher inflation level of 10 psi that provides the kayak’s superior rigidity over other inflatable kayaks that only inflate to 3-4 psi.
This unique design creates an incredibly tough, super-rigid, ultra-light kayak with performance capabilities that rival any hardshell kayak in its class with the advantages of being inflatable.
The 393rl RazorLite inflatable kayak is extremely light and rolls up into its backpack for ease of transport and storage.
Unique Bow and Stern Design
The Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayaks have a rigid bow and stern molds made of durable plastic that creates a revolutionary speed entry system that leads into a double concave hull before opening into a flat planing surface.
At the bow, the double concave design allows pockets of air to pass between the hull and the water to create lift. The lift reduces friction and drag. The result? Increased speed.
At the stern, the double concave design allows for a smooth, clean exit leaving little to no wake behind.
When deflated for storage, the bow and stern molds easily roll up with the kayak.
Straight Hull Design
The Sea Eagle 393rl RazorLite inflatable kayak has a straight hull design with a very narrow width of 25 inches at the waterline that maximizes the kayak’s Length Water Line (LWL). This combined with the RazorLite’s uniquely designed bow and stern and the tapered sidewalls allow a paddle speed as fast as any traditional kayak.
Length Water Line (LWL) is a performance term used in boating to determine hull speed and refers to a hull’s length measurement at the waterline. Kayaks with longer LWLs are usually faster.
Adjustable Ergonomic FlexBrace Footrest
The Sea Eagle 393rl RazorLite comes with the FlexBrace Kit preinstalled. The ergonomic brace easily and quickly adjusts to accommodate 20 different positions providing a comfortable footrest for all paddlers.
The kayak’s footrests are not only comfortable, but they also improve paddling efforts to produce a more powerful stroke. A great benefit when out on a long paddling trip.

Aqua Marina Tomahawk AIR-K 375
The Aqua Marina Tomahawk AIR-K 375 ( 12’4″ ) is fully constructed of drop-stitch technology with double-wall fabric for incredible rigidity and durability.
This light load capacity kayak (max. 282 lbs / 128 kg) offers speed, comfort, and stability with a molded bow and stern that efficiently cuts through the water.

Decathlon Itiwit X500 – 1 Person
The Decathlon Itiwit X500 solo sit-in inflatable kayak is made of high-pressure drop-stitch technology. This rigid yet portable inflatable kayak has a V-shaped hull that cuts through the water with ease to glide on the water with little friction.
It’s the first inflatable touring kayak that has the shape and feel of a hardshell sit-in touring kayak. And far above that it performs as well as a hardshell kayak! It’s so well designed that it doesn’t come with a skeg and it tracks well without one.
Its best use is for all conditions not just on flat water and its cockpit rim accepts a skit so it can be used in all seasons and in whitewater.
Decathlon keeps its research, development, and manufacturing in-house which provides them superior control over the quality of their kayaks.
The Itiwit X500 is best for intermediate to advanced kayakers.

Sea Eagle 393rl Razorlite Review Conclusion
Impressive!
If you’re looking for a one-person, high-performance, inflatable kayak for touring, look no further than the Sea Eagle 393rl RazorLite inflatable kayak. The rigidity, handling, and speed rival any hardshell kayak in its class and it has all the benefits of being an inflatable.
The Sea Eagle 393rl RazorLite is 12′ 10″ long which provides extra storage room in front of the foot braces and behind the seat, but if you need more room consider the 473rl RazorLite at 15′ 6″ long. The bonus of the 473rl RazorLite is that it can be set up as a solo or tandem kayak.
Note: The RazorLite’s narrow, sleek design and high-performance capabilities make it best suited for intermediate and above paddlers. Beginners may find the stability more challenging than a wider inflatable kayak with larger side tubes like the Sea Eagle Explorer, FastTrack, or Sport Kayaks.
