The ultra-lightweight FastTrack truly lives up to its name. It paddles faster and tracks straighter than any inflatable kayak on the market!
The FastTrack series comes in three models:
Sea Eagle RazorLite Kayaks
If speed is what you’re after then the Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayak may be the right choice for you! The high-pressure, all-drop-stitch construction brings it closer to the rigidity of a hard shell kayak than any preceding kayak.
The RazorLite’s narrow design (25″ at the waterline) and double concave hull help reduce drag and cleanly cut through waves thanks to its sharp, tapered, hard-nose bow and stern and low profile so you can paddle faster and farther with less effort.
An additional feature of the RazorLite is its adjustable footrest. It improves balance and allows you to improve your paddling effort when powering through the water.
Sea Eagle RazorLite is perfect for recreational paddling on flatwater or slow-moving rivers at impressive speeds of up to 6 mph!
While providing superior stability when compared to traditional hardshell kayaks, it is less stable than other kayaks in the Sea Eagle lineup. This makes it best suited for intermediate to advanced paddlers.
The RazorLite series comes in two models:

Sea Eagle Inflatable Kayak Buyer’s Guide
Sea Eagle Inflatable Kayaks are a great way to get out on the water. They offer an affordable, lightweight alternative to traditional hard-shell kayaks and canoes that are lightweight and easy to transport and store.
These kayaks offer a great combination of speed, stability, and portability that make them perfect for recreational use or long-distance trips.
Whether you’re looking for an easy way to take your family out on the lake or want something that can handle rough waters with ease, Sea Eagle kayaks have you covered.
When it comes to choosing the right Sea Eagle inflatable kayak, there are a few key points to consider:
Inflatable kayaks come in different shapes that are designed for specific uses such as whitewater rivers or touring lakes.
For performance and safety reasons, you should choose a kayak that is suited for its intended use. Fortunately, Sea Eagle kayaks are well suited for many uses. For instance, the Explorer inflatable kayak covers every use: ocean, whitewater rivers, flatwater rivers, bays, lakes, fishing, and camping.
If you aren’t sure how you’ll be using your kayak, the Sea Eagle Explore is your best option.
Recreational Kayaks: Recreational kayaks are designed for shorter trips on flat water such as ponds, small lakes, and slow-moving rivers.
These boats typically have wide beams (width) which make them very stable while still providing adequate speed making them great choices for beginners looking to explore local waterways at their own pace without worrying about tipping over.
Sea & Touring Kayaks: Touring and sea kayaks are longer than recreational models and often feature narrower beams like the RazorLite series.
The narrower width allows them to cut through the water faster while maintaining good tracking capabilities even in choppy conditions such as those found near shorelines or in open ocean environments.
Perfect if you’re planning on taking extended trips out onto larger bodies of water!
Whitewater Kayaks: Inflatable whitewater kayaks need to be tough and agile. They also should have skirts like Advanced Elements kayaks or they need to be super-fast self-bailing like Sea Eagle’s.
Fishing Kayak: Fishing Inflatable fishing kayaks are often wider boats for increased stability when casting or standing. They also offer special angling features such as rod holders, non-slip floors, and fish rulers.
Sea Eagle fishing kayaks also have reinforced hull materials in high-wear areas for protection from hooks and sharp fins.
Camping Kayak: Camping kayaks have extra roomy cockpits suitable for storing camping gear such as sleeping bags, tents, stoves, etc. Tandem and 3-person inflatable kayaks provide lots of room and are often used for camping.
Motorized Kayaks: Motorized kayaks allow users to travel further distances much far faster than paddling. They are hugely beneficial for kayak fishing.
Sea Eagle has motor mounting kits for many of its kayaks whereas most manufacturers do not.
Size and Weight
How much room do you need? Do you plan on paddling solo or with others? Will you be taking any gear along?
Knowing your needs ahead of time will narrow down your kayak choices and make sure you get the best fit for your needs.
The size of your inflatable tandem kayak will depend on how many people plan on using it at once, as well as what type of water you plan on paddling in most often (lakes, rivers, coastal waters).
Larger inflatable kayaks offer more room for two people but they can also be harder to maneuver due to their increased length. Larger models will also weigh more though they weigh less than hard shell kayaks and are far easier to transport and store.
Smaller models tend to weigh less but they won’t provide much room for gear or extra passengers if needed.
Consider the size and weight carefully before making your purchase – think about where you’ll use it most often and who else might join you in the boat from time to time.
The next factor to consider is the boat’s maximum weight capacity. Whatever model you choose make sure it can handle the weight of all of the passengers and gear that will be aboard.
If you put too much weight in a kayak the performance and safety of the boat can suffer greatly… It can even capsize or sink.
The load capacity of Sea Eagle kayaks ranges from 1 person or 395 lbs to 3 people or 855 lbs which is more than adequate for most any situation.

Another important aspect when selecting an inflatable kayak is material quality.
Sea Eagle uses two different rugged hull materials to make their boats. A moderate-pressure, 33 or 38 mil PolyKrylar (K80 PVC) fabric is used in their Sport kayaks and a high-pressure, 36 mil 1000 or 2000 denier polyester-reinforced fabric in high-performance boats.
Sea Eagle hull materials offer superior durability and resistance against UV rays, saltwater corrosion, abrasion, and punctures.
High-pressure drop-stitch construction is the top-of-the-line construction technique for inflatable kayaks, SUPs, and other inflatable boats.
The high-pressure, drop-stitch material is made by joining a top and bottom layer of fabric with tens of thousands of polyester threads that form I-beam supports to hold the two layers of fabric together.
This enables the DS material to be inflated to a much higher pressure (10 psi) than other kayaks (3-4 psi) which increases the overall rigidity, stability, and performance of the kayak.
Sea Eagle kayaks have 3-4 air chambers. This improved design also provides safety.
It is highly unlikely that one of the air chambers is compromised but should you lose air pressure in one or more chambers the kayak won’t sink.
You’ll have time to safely reach the shore and address any problem that you might be having with air pressure.
Sea Eagle does a great job providing popular packages that save you money and provide accessories that meet your needs no matter what your style of kayaking.
With your kayak purchase, you will receive a carry bag, foot pump, repair kit, and instruction manual.
In addition to these items, there are multiple discount packages for each kayak model that feature different choices of seats, paddles, and other accessories like electric motors, rowing kits, and sailing kits to make your time on the water even more enjoyable.
They also provide a wide range of accessories for customizing your kayaking experience – electric pumps, anchors, wheel carts, fishing gear, safety equipment, solar panels, thigh straps, and more.
There are two necessary accessories that are not included in Sea Eagle Boat discount packages.
Personal Flotation Device (PFD): Always carry a United States Coast Guard (USCG) approved PFD and children under 12 should always wear a PFD. PFDs are a boating safety necessity and are required by law on government waters.
Dry Bags: Inflatable kayaks lack watertight storage areas making dry bags necessary for keeping gear safe and dry.
Benefits of Sea Eagle Inflatable Kayaks
One major benefit of owning a Sea Eagle inflatable kayak is its portability compared to traditional hard shell boats. All models come with carrying bags that make it easy to transport them in any vehicle – even small cars!
Plus, since they’re inflatable there’s no need for a trailer either; simply inflate it when you reach your destination and deflate it when you are done!
Additionally, these boats are incredibly stable due to their wide beam design which makes them perfect for beginners who may not be used to balancing in a narrow kayak yet still allows experienced paddlers the performance capabilities they desire like navigating rapids or tight turns on rivers or tracking and speed on flatwater lakes.
The cost of an inflatable kayak can vary greatly depending on features such as material type, construction, design features, size, etc.
Generally speaking, however, most quality models range from $230-$2,000+ USD. The price depends greatly on the materials and size (1-3 person kayak) so it’s important to have a budget in mind before making any purchases. You don’t want to spend too much.
There are, however, savings to factor in when buying an inflatable kayak. You won’t need a roof rack or trailer. Both of which reduce your vehicle’s fuel efficiency.
Sea Eagle kayaks are certified by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) confirming that their kayaks have been manufactured to meet the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) standards for design, construction, and safety.

These boats are lightweight, extremely durable, compact, easy to carry and transport, and above all fun! Shopping for a Used Sea Eagle Kayak
Shopping for a used Sea Eagle Kayak can be an exciting and rewarding experience. It is important to do your research before making any purchase, especially when it comes to used inflatable kayaks.
Before you buy a used kayak, make sure you have done your research on the kayak model you intend to buy.
Look at reviews online from other users who have purchased the same type of kayak and read up on the specifications and features offered by each model. This will help ensure that you get the best quality product for your money.
When shopping for a used kayak, it is important to inspect the condition of the boat thoroughly before making any purchase decisions.
Check for signs of wear such as tears and abrasions in the hull material, missing parts, and discoloration that might indicate UV or chemical damage.
Inflate the kayak and test for leaks and comfort.
If possible, test out how well it paddles so that you can get an idea of its performance capabilities before committing to buying it.
Price should also be taken into consideration when shopping for a used Sea Eagle kayak; however, don’t let price be your only deciding factor when choosing which one to buy!
Consider all aspects including condition and performance capability as well as what accessories may come with it (pump, repair kit, paddles, life jackets, etc.).
Make sure that whatever price range you decide upon fits within your budget but still allows room for necessary repairs if needed after purchase such as patching holes or replacing seats.
Maintenance & Care
Finally, remember that owning a Sea Eagle kayak requires regular maintenance and care in order to keep it in top shape over time!
Be sure to store it properly during off-season months so that no damage occurs due to extreme temperatures, weather conditions, or animals. Additionally, check regularly for any signs of wear and tear that indicate potential repair needs.
Sea Eagle Kayaks vs Competition
Sea Eagle vs Aquaglide
Sea Eagle and Aquaglide are two of the most popular brands on the market. Both offer various models for recreational, fishing, and whitewater adventures.
Performance: Like Sea Eagle Boats, Aquaglide incorporates drop-stitch floors in many of its models for rigidity that rivals hard shell kayaks. Aquaglide, however, doesn’t have a boat made completely of drop-stitch construction like the RazorLite kayaks.
Sea Eagle kayaks have skegs to improve tracking and speed. These skegs are removable in all but the Sport models. Aquaglide kayaks lack skegs in many of their models.
Durability: Many Aquaglide kayaks use 1000 Denier fabric-reinforced PVC comparable to Sea Eagle kayak construction but also have models with a HexShell bladder cover material made of 600 Denier hexagonal ripstop polyester fabric. These models with bladder covers are cheaper, heavier, less rigid, and less durable.
Price: When it comes to price, both companies offer competitive prices across all models, however, if budget is an issue you may want to go with Aquaglide. They usually cost less than comparable Sea Eagle models.
- What Hull Materials Are Used In Aquaglide Kayaks and SUPs?
- What Hull Materials Are Used In Sea Eagle Boats?
Sea Eagle vs Advanced Elements
Sea Eagle and Advanced Elements are both very popular kayaks, though Advanced Elements builds hybrid boats that incorporate aluminum frames to support the inflatable chambers of its kayaks.
Performance: The incorporation of aluminum frames and drop-stitch floors provide Advanced Elements kayaks with a refined shape and performance more like a hard shell kayak. While not as heavy as a hard shell, the aluminum frame makes them heavier than a comparable Sea Eagle kayak.
Durability: When it comes to durability, both Sea Eagle and Advanced Elements have solid reputations for making quality products that last, though Sea Eagle uses heavy-duty, fabric-reinforced PVC material that has superior durability to the lightweight, polyester upper deck cover and PVC tarpaulin hull material used in Advanced Elements kayaks.
The main difference between them is in how they construct their boats.
Price: When pricing similar models, Sea Eagle and Advanced Elements kayaks are similar in price.

Sea Eagle vs Sevylor
Sevylor inflatable kayaks are cheaply priced and inferior to Sea Eagle in performance, durability, and design. They are suitable for recreational use and fishing on calm water sheltered from the wind.
Sea Eagle kayaks are far superior for all types of paddling and a safer choice for the money.
Sea Eagle vs Intex
Intex is cheap and a bottom-of-the-line entry into inflatable kayaking.
Intex’s top-of-the-line Intex Excursion Pro Kayak Series is comparable in price to Sea Eagle’s entry-level Sport Kayaks, though both the SE330 and SE370 outperform the Excursion and are made with higher quality materials and construction techniques.
If you’re looking for a long-term investment then spending a bit more upfront on a Sea Eagle may be worth it. They will last longer and require less maintenance over time compared to a cheaper alternative from Intex.
Sea Eagle vs AIRE
Sea Eagle and AIRE are two highly popular brands with a variety of inflatable kayaks. They both produce some of the best inflatable kayaks on the market.
When I mention AIRE, I’m including AIRE Tributary as well.
AIRE is made in the US and has a 10-year warranty. The best out of any kayak manufacturer I’ve found.
AIRE Tributary are Chinese-made kayaks with only a 1-year warranty. Sea Eagle has a 3-year warranty with an optional 3-year extended warranty.
Both Sea Eagle and AIRE offer a wide range of models, from recreational to whitewater, that can suit any paddler’s needs. AIRE kayaks are made primarily for whitewater rapids, which makes sense. AIRE has been making whitewater boats since 1989.
Although AIRE is focused on whitewater, models like the Super Lynx are great crossover boats that track well with the removable skeg installed.
The biggest difference between the two manufacturers is Sea Eagle’s use of drop-stitch floors. This feature makes their boats as rigid as a hard-shell kayak.
Performance: Both companies make great performing kayaks with plenty of speed for recreational paddling or navigating rapids if desired.
Overall performance varies depending on the model chosen from either manufacturer since different designs cater to specific activities like touring versus whitewater.
In general, both companies provide good tracking capabilities regardless of water conditions making them suitable for any type of activity desired.
Durability: In terms of durability, both Sea Eagle and AIRE use high-quality materials such as fabric-reinforced PVC which makes the hulls highly resistant to punctures and abrasions.
Price: When it comes down to price, Sea Eagle and AIRE Tributary price points are fairly close. US-manufactured AIRE kayaks, however, are some of the most expensive brands on the market.
Sea Eagle vs STAR Inflatables
STAR inflatables have recreational and whitewater kayaks with drop-stitch technology that are comparable to Sea Eagle in quality, durability, performance, and price.
STAR doesn’t have a kayak made completely of drop-stitch construction like the Sea Eagle RazorLite. They also lack a designated fishing kayak in their lineup but NRS owns STAR and they have two fishing kayaks that I’ll cover next.
Sea Eagle has a couple of benefits worth mentioning. They have been around longer than STAR and have the benefit of multiple discount packages for each model. They, also, have a ton of accessories for customizing your kayak.
Sea Eagle vs NRS
NRS is a noteworthy brand that manufactures high-quality inflatable kayaks under its name as well as STAR Inflatables which it acquired in 2017.
Performance: Both Sea Eagle and NRS fishing kayak offer performance-enhanced designs with removable tracking fins. There are some superior features to the Sea Eagle kayaks that set them apart:
- The Sea Eagle 350fx Fishing Explorer has an enhanced feature for those that might be doing both wet and dry paddling, rapid self-bailing drain valves that easily open and close as needed.
- The Sea Eagle 385fta FastTrack Angler has a rigid inflatable keel that allows it to travel faster and straighter than the NRS kayaks.
- Both Sea Eagle fishing kayaks weigh a few pounds more than their NRS counterparts, though they are far superior in weight capacity with the 385fta providing the extra benefit of carrying 2 persons.
Durability: NRS and Sea Eagle fishing kayaks are both made from 1000 Denier Reinforced material. Sea Eagle, however, reinforces sections of the side tubes and floor with an additional layer of 1000 denier fabric to protect against hooks, sharp fins, and abrasions.
Price: The Sea Eagle and NRS inflatable fishing kayaks are comparably priced. Sea Eagle can get pricier if you pick a higher-end package that features a motor. Something NRS doesn’t offer.
Sea Eagle vs Kokopelli
Sea Eagle and Kokopelli both offer quality and durable products, but there are some differences between the two that make them unique.
Kokopelli kayaks are primarily built for recreational flatwater paddling. They do not have designated whitewater or fishing kayaks.
Performance: When comparing compatible kayaks with drop-stitch floors, Sea Eagle outperforms Kokopelli on speed, tracking, stability, and turning. This is primarily due to Sea Eagle’s superior construction methods and design.
Durability: Sea Eagle and Kokopelli kayaks both have high-pressure drop-stitch floors and are made from very durable products. Sea Eagle, however, has Kokopelli beat on durability when it comes to side tube construction.
The Kokopelli kayaks have a 1000 Denier reinforced PVC drop-stitch floor while the side chambers are constructed of a bladder with cover. The bladder cover material is made of 420 Denier nylon fabric on the top and 1000 Denier reinforced PVC on the bottom.
Sea Eagle kayaks with high-pressure floors are most comparable to Kokopelli.
Sea Eagle kayaks have air chambers made from 36 mil 1000 or 2000 denier polyester-reinforced fabric with glued quadruple overlapped seams for extra durability. The 2000 denier materials are only found in their fishing kayaks for extra protection from hooks and fins.
Price: Sea Eagle tends to be more expensive due to its higher-grade materials and construction methods. As far as Kokopelli goes, their prices tend to be lower but still competitive given the quality of their products – perfect if you’re just starting out or need something affordable yet dependable.
