Key Features of All Sea Eagle RazorLite Inflatable Kayaks

The following key features of Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayaks set them apart from the competition and deserve closer attention.

World’s First and Only Kayak Made Entirely with Drop-Stitch Material

Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayak is the world's first and only kayak made entirely of drop-stitch material.

The patented Sea Eagle RazorLite series of inflatable kayaks is the world’s first and only inflatable kayak made entirely with drop-stitch construction technology which yields a high-performance, tough-as-nails, incredibly rigid, ultra-light kayak that’s a thrill to paddle.

Sea Eagle creates drop-stitch materials by joining the top and bottom fabric layers with tens of thousands of high-tensile strength threads. This increases the kayak’s rigidity by enabling the kayak floor and sidewalls to be inflated to 10 psi, much higher than the 3-4 psi inflation pressure of other inflatable kayaks.

The floor of this kayak is made of 3-inch thick, drop-stitch material and the sidewalls are made of 4-inch thick, drop-stitch material.

The unique drop-stitch construction makes the Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayak as fast as any hardshell kayak in its class while providing the added benefit of being extremely portable and light. It easily rolls up and slips into its own backpack.

Unique Bow and Stern Design

Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayak rigid bow and stern molds create the worlds very first speed entry system
Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayak's unique bow and stern design with tapered sidewalls.

The Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayaks have a rigid bow and stern molds made of durable plastic that creates a revolutionary speed entry system that leads into a double concave hull before opening into a flat planing surface.

At the bow, the double concave design allows pockets of air to pass between the hull and the water to create lift. The lift reduces friction and drag. The result? Increased speed.

At the stern, the double concave design allows for a smooth, clean exit leaving little to no wake behind.

When deflated for storage, the bow and stern molds easily roll up with the kayak.

Straight Hull Design

Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayak straight hull design.

Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayaks have a straight hull design that maximizes the kayak’s Length Water Line (LWL).

Length Water Line (LWL) is a boating performance term used to determine hull speed and refers to a hull’s length measurement at the waterline. Generally, kayaks with longer LWLs are faster.

The RazorLite’s straight hull design and very narrow, 25″ width at the waterline combined with its unique bow and stern design with tapered sidewalls allow this inflatable kayak to paddle as fast as any traditional, hardshell kayak.

Adjustable Ergonomic FlexBrace Footrest

Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayak's FlexBrace is a fully adjustable ergonomic foot brace.

Sea Eagle RazorLite inflatable kayaks come with Sea Eagle’s trademarked FlexBrace Kit installed to provide hours of comfortable bracing. With 20 different positions, the ergonomic footrest quickly and easily adjusts to accommodate any paddler.

The footrest is not only comfortable, it streamlines paddling efforts by yielding more powerful strokes. A huge benefit when you’re on a long kayak trip.

Hey Steve Hood, got a question about the drop-stitch material for the RazorLite. How does it hold up against punctures? Planning a lot of river trips and gotta know it’s gonna handle the occasional bump.

    1. PaddleQueen, I’ve taken mine on a few rocky rivers and it’s been solid so far. Just make sure ya check for any sharp sticks or rocks when launching.

  2. Really impressed with the straight hull design on the RazorLite. It’s gotta make tracking on the water smooth. Anyone tried racing in one of these? Bet it slices through water like a hot knife through butter.

  3. The adjustable footrests sound like a great touch. Comfort is key in long paddles. Wondering if they stay put in rougher conditions.

  4. Avatar for TechieTrev TechieTrev says:

Not convinced the drop-stitch tech is exclusive to Sea Eagle. Seen similar claims from other brands. Anyone else seen this or am I getting mixed up?

    1. Avatar for KayakKing KayakKing says:

TechieTrev, drop-stitch is used by a few, but it’s the entire kayak construction that sets Sea Eagle apart. Most just use it for floors.

  5. Avatar for RiverRover RiverRover says:

Did someone say the RazorLite can handle bumps? So, it’s basically me in a kayak form. Always bouncing off things but somehow still floating. 😂

  6. Avatar for SpecSniper SpecSniper says:

Could anyone clarify the weight capacity of the 393rl RazorLite? The article didn’t mention it.

Love that inflatable kayaks like these mean more people can enjoy the water without needing a trailer or roof rack. Great for occasional paddlers!

Does anyone actually believe these inflatables can be as good as hard shells? Seems like a lot of marketing fluff to me.

Anyone tried fishing from one of these? Curious how stable they are if you hook something big.
